If you have an abundance of apples, this applesauce is the perfect way to use them! It keeps great in the freezer if you have any extras. It’s delicious on a granola parfait or used in this Apple Cinnamon Granola. We recommend setting your preferences to the 2 person plan for this recipe!

INGREDIENTS

  • 8
    apple(s), (large)
  • 0.25
    Cup
    honey
  • 0.5
    lemon(s), juiced
  • 2
    Teaspoon
    cinnamon
  • 0.5
    Teaspoon
    vanilla
  • 0.5
    Cup
    water

INSTRUCTIONS

1.

Core the apples and cut into 1 inch chunks. Leave the peels on or peel the apples if you’d like a lighter-colored sauce or are using an apple with a firmer skin like Granny Smith. Place the apples into the crockpot.

2.

Add the honey, cinnamon, lemon juice, vanilla and water. Stir and coat apple chunks evenly with the seasonings.

3.

Cover the crock pot, and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2- 3 hours, until the apples completely break down. Stir the apples occasionally while the sauce cooks.

4.

Use an immersion blender to blend the sauce until smooth. Taste, and add additional honey if you’d like a sweeter sauce. Let cool, and enjoy!
