GF Caramel Apple Energy Bites
These Caramel Apple Energy Bites are perfect for back to school! Not only are they nut free but they are an incredible on the go snack. They are sweet and delicious thanks to the dates and apple sauce! If you have extra apples on hand and want to make your own apple sauce, try this Slow Cooker Apple Sauce. We drizzled these with white chocolate to make them even more decadent.

.33Cuppitted Medjool dates
.25Cupapple sauce (or make your own)
.75Cuplarge flake GF oats, divided
.125Teaspooncinnamon, or more to taste
pinch of nutmeg (optional)
1Tablespoonmaple syrup (optional)
Use GF oats.
1. To a food processor add the dates, apple sauce, 1/2 cup of oats, chia seeds, hemp hearts, sunflower seeds, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pulse until the mixture comes together and is fine pieces. Stir in the remaining oats and add more cinnamon if desired.
2. Wet your hands slightly and taking about 2 tablespoons of the mixture, roll into bite-sized energy balls. Place in a sealed container and store in the fridge for up to a week or for up to 1 month in the freezer.
