This recipe makes enough sauce to freeze extras for a rainy day! Grate your veggies on the fine side of a box grater to hide them best.

Plant-Based Option

Use veggie ground, vegan parmesan, and vegetable stock. Omit the Worcestershire.

Gluten Free Option

Use GF spaghetti noodles and ensure your stock and Worcestershire are GF.

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat a large pot over medium high heat. Add the ground and cook 5-6 minutes until almost cooked through. Add the yellow onion, carrots, and zucchini and cook until soft, around 4-5 minutes.

Add the garlic, dried oregano, and Italian seasoning and cook until fragrant, around 30 seconds. Add the tomato paste and stir to combine. Add the crushed tomatoes, half the parmesan, Worcestershire, and stock and bring to a simmer. Let simmer 10-15 minutes uncovered (or longer).

While the sauce simmers, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente. Serve the sauce over the pasta and garnish with parmesan and basil.
